Celebrating the Excellencies of His Name -Prince of Peace, by Petra Hefner-

*
Our
Peace
Is Christ
And in Christ
And from Christ
And through Christ
For us
Christ alone
Is
The Prince of Peace
Our Peace!
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
And
This man
Shall be our Peace
The King of Peace existing
From eternity to eternity
Who was and is and is to come
The Prince of Peace
Our Peace Beneath
His Commandments
Kept fully!
Though sin – our sin
Nailed Him
It pleased Him
To bruise Him
His own promise kept!
Yet death could not keep Him
His perfect obedience birthed
New life
His Peace
The Mystery of His Will
His Glory revealed!
In Him Revealing
His righteousness
Our perfect Peace
Peace like a river
Now flows
For those
Who believe that He Is
The Prince of Peace
The King of Peace
Our peace
To love
His
Law
!
For He Himself
Is our Peace
The author
And the cause
Of Peace
Our Peace to speak
Through Him and of Him
That He alone Is
The Prince of Peace
The King of Peace
Peace
To the nations
From sea to sea
To the ends of the earth
Our Peace and their Peace
Peace between two
Jew and Gentile
Man and God
Rightly offended
Yet bringing Peace
His Peace
His Gospel
His Church
His Kingdom
Peace without end!
And
His Word
Will keep our minds
Stayed on Him
In Perfect
Peace
!
For He Himself
Is our Peace
The Prince of Peace
Who saves
Not by bow, sword, or battle
But by His own body
Given freely
His own blood shed
To procure Peace
Lasting Peace
Peace
Everlasting
His covenant of Life and Peace
Secure and continuing
His righteousness
And confidence
Our quietness
Forever
Rest
For our souls
By Him and through Him
The Prince of Peace
The King of Peace
Establishes
Peace
In us
And with us
His Peace Is
Beyond
All
Understanding
To keep and to guard
Our hearts and minds
completely
!
For He Himself
Is our Peace
Within
Though the enemy without
Invades
Storms wax and wane
Still He Is
Our Peace
Never changing
Never ceasing
Lasting Peace
Within and without
All
Sufficient
Overcoming Peace
Our Peace in tribulation
Though mountains shake
And our hills crumble
The Prince of Peace
The King of Peace
Remains
Love
Unfailing
Never ending
His promise of Peace
Our tempest stilled
By His power
Completely
At Peace
!
For He Himself
Is
Our Peace
Peace with us
O, Immanuel!
Peace within us
His Peace among us
Peace amidst those who please Him
In Him Alone
Is
Peace
Peace that pleases
Within
And appeases God without
Without us!
Yet for us
Justified
Completely
In Him alone
Through faith alone
When we believe
That He Is
Our Peace with God
Sanctified and whole
In spirit, soul, and body
At Peace
Preserved
Blameless
At His coming
When we shall meet
The Prince of Peace
Our Peace of heart
The King of Peace
All fears depart
Pardoned
In
Him
!
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” Luke 2:14

His
Peace
Is our Peace
Peace with God,
Our Peace on earth
Christ, our highest glory. Glory to God in the Highest.
Go out in joy and be led forth in Peace. Sing!
His righteousness is our peace and joy.
The mountains and hills will
Burst into song before
You. The trees of the field
Will clap their hands in praise.
Praise Him, turn your weeping into song
For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given.
“And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

  1. Petra,
Your devotional was very creative to say the least. I just loved the section, “For He Himself is our Peace Who saves, not by bow, sword or battle, but by His own body, given freely…” I am thankful, but sorry too that my sin would put Him on the Cross.

The entire piece is absolutely beautiful and some sections would make for really nice greeting cards.

    Merry Christmas,

  2. The more we know Him….the more our greatest desire to esteem the worth of God. Throughout all eternity- we will be on a wild passionate pursuit of knowing God. But whats so wonderful in John 17-we are told that we start that now! For this is eternal life…know Him!

  3. Thank you so much, Becky, for hosting this beautiful Advent series, and for asking me to be a part of it! I am also very grateful for all the encouraging comments. You may never know how much that means to me. I appreciate every one of you very much!

One very dear to me asked me why it was so long, if I just couldn't stop, lol! I have to admit, it is long and it was hard to stop. I also know that if I had kept it a few more days, I probably would have shrunk it. But, I was brave and sent it off. That's why your support is so awesome. To God be the glory, great things He always does!!

God’s richest grace on you all!
