The LORD Reigns
The LORD reigns; he is robed in majesty;
the LORD is robed; he has put on strength as his belt.
Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved.
Your throne is established from of old;
you are from everlasting.
The floods have lifted up, O LORD,
the floods have lifted up their voice;
the floods lift up their roaring.
Mightier than the thunders of many waters,
mightier than the waves of the sea,
the LORD on high is mighty!
Your decrees are very trustworthy;
holiness befits your house,
O LORD, forevermore.

 *****************************

O God, You are Divine, You are Omnipotent,
Yours is the world in which I walk,
You reign today over all,
over every circumstance,
over all my world;
You reign indeed.
I may be confused and tempted to doubt,
but You never move,
You always reign.
You are my King, robed in Majesty,
with your strength as your belt.
Everything is under your Sovereign care;
Your decrees are always fulfilled,
by men and nature,
by seas and earth.
The wind never blows against a leaf
without Your permission.
You are King.
You are my Sovereign King.
From everlasting my times are in your hands,
my plans and desires,
the longings of my heart,
nothing escapes from Your Sovereign will.
Mightier You are, O LORD,
than all the storms,
than all my fears,
than all my sins.
Your voice is Mightier than Satan’s accusations,
Your Word is Mighty to save
even a sinful woman like me.
Your Word is a mighty Sword
that cuts into my soul
and changes
my nature.
Lord, You are Mighty
and faithful to save your own.
Lord, you are Mighty
and faithful to preserve your own
even through terrible storms,
and passages of death,
and valleys of silence.
Lord, let my heart never forget
that Your decrees are very trustworthy,
that holiness befits your house,
O LORD, forevermore.

Praying the Psalms- Psalm 90-

Psalm 90

BOOK FOUR

From Everlasting to Everlasting

A Prayer of Moses, the man of God.

1. Lord, you have been our dwelling place
in all generations.
Lord, remembering how your hand has been upon us all these years
should make me raise today full of faith,
knowing that YOU, You the mighty One has been our dwelling place all these years.
Where else can I be secure?
Where else but in your  dwelling place.
2 Before the mountains were brought forth,
or ever you had formed the earth and the world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
You never fail God, You never change.
You, my dwelling place never move.
You are the same for ever and ever;
I praise You for your immutability today!

3 You return man to dust
and say, “Return, O children of man!”
You said, “Return…”
You called me by name and I could resist
Your irresistible Grace.
4 For a thousand years in your sight
are but as yesterday when it is past,
or as a watch in the night.

5You sweep them away as with a flood; they are like a dream,
like grass that is renewed in the morning:
6 in the morning it flourishes and is renewed;
in the evening it fades and withers.

Lord, you are not bound to time,
the brevity of my life is always in contrast with Your Eternal Being.
Teach me, O teach me, please,
to live beyond this timeline that frames my days,
help me remember that the squares in the calendar
should not rule my life;
help me live with my heart fixed on eternity…

7 For we are brought to an end by your anger;
by your wrath we are dismayed.
8 You have set our iniquities before you,
our secret sins in the light of your presence.
9 For all our days pass away under your wrath;
we bring our years to an end like a sigh.
10 The years of our life are seventy,
or even by reason of strength eighty;
yet their span is but toil and trouble;
they are soon gone, and we fly away.
11 Who considers the power of your anger,
and your wrath according to the fear of you?
Father, I bow my head now to repent for all my sins;
Forgive me for I live at times without considering Your Word;
I toil and trouble and do not take pauses to pray to You.
Forgive all those secrets sins that cannot remain hidden.
Thank you because Your Word points to my sin,
and your Holy Spirit leads me to repentance.
Thank you, Father.
12 So teach us to number our days
that we may get a heart of wisdom.
13 Return, O LORD! How long?
Have pity on your servants!
Yes, O yes, Lord .
Teach me to number my days;
not to live a busy life,
not to be able to say,
“I have lived well today”
but to get a heart of wisdom;
a heart who fears You;
a heart full of your Word.
14 Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love,
that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
15 Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
and for as many years as we have seen evil.
Today I come to drink at your feet,
to eat from your hand;
satisfy my souls’ deepest needs…
Let Your love be all I long for;
be your love the joy of my life.
16 Let your work be shown to your servants,
and your glorious power to their children.
17 Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us,
and establish the work of our hands upon us;
yes, establish the work of our hands!
Father, now I pray,  let your work, your glorious,
transforming power that is
working in me, be known in my family;
change me more into your image that they may  be able to see
those changes,
day by day,
morning after morning.
Let your favor be upon us,
establish the work of your hands upon us, your saints;
yes, establish the work of your hands!
In Jesus’ name, I pray today,
Amen

Praying the Psalms- Psalm 65-

Psalm 65

O God of Our Salvation
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. A Song.
Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion,
and to you shall vows be performed.
O you who hear prayer,
to you shall all flesh come.
When iniquities prevail against me,
you atone for our transgressions.
Blessed is the one you choose and bring near,
to dwell in your courts!
We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house,
the holiness of your temple!
By awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness,
O God of our salvation,
the hope of all the ends of the earth
   and of the farthest seas;
the one who by his strength established the mountains,
being girded with might;
who stills the roaring of the seas,
the roaring of their waves,
the tumult of the peoples,
so that those who dwell at the ends of the earth are in awe at your signs.
You make the going out of the morning and the evening to shout for joy.
You visit the earth and water it;
you greatly enrich it;
the river of God is full of water;
you provide their grain,
for so you have prepared it.
You water its furrows abundantly,
settling its ridges,
softening it with showers,
and blessing its growth.
You crown the year with your bounty;
your wagon tracks overflow with abundance.
The pastures of the wilderness overflow,
the hills gird themselves with joy,
the meadows clothe themselves with flocks,
the valleys deck themselves with grain,
they shout and sing together for joy.
**************
Lord, I praise You today. You alone are worthy to be praised!
Lord, I am so grateful because “You hear my prayer”
These four words are so powerful,
and full of meaning.
This statement, should be enough for me
to come to you in prayer day and night,
this statement should encourage me to
pray without ceasing.
Thank you, O LORD, because it pleases You
to hear the prayer of your saints.
LORD, thank you, thank you because you not only hear my prayer,
but you atone for my transgressions which are many.
Father, I am blessed indeed;
and the greatest blessing
that you have bestowed upon me is that You have called me to dwell in your courts!
You have chosen me and You have brought me near to You,
by bringing me near the Cross.
O, yes, yes Father, let me satisfied with the goodness of your house,
the holiness of your temple,
the sweetness of each word I read on my Bible.
Lord, forgive me when in my foolishness,
I am deceived and seek satisfaction everywhere else.
Lord, we pray small prayers, and yet You answer us with awesome deeds
with righteousness,
O God of our Salvation,
You alone are my HOPE;
You alone are my strength.You who has established the mountains,
has established my life on the Rock of Ages.
I shall not be moved, that is my HOPE.
Lord, I am in awe at your deeds, your signs;
Your hand is always orchestrating our lives according to your perfect will.
Father when a storm comes against me, against my beloved ones, against your church;
help us remember that YOU, You alone has the power to still the roaring seas,
the roaring of the waves,
the tumult of peoples.
Thank you, for each morning and night,
for rhythms in our lives;
for rain and snow,
and good soil to plant,
and food to eat.
You crown our years, our days, our minutes with your bounty;
you have filled my home with food for us and others;
You have filled my home with food for the soul too;
good books and Bibles, and beautiful music;
all fill our rooms.
You have rescued us from from the spiritual famine in which we lived
so many years.
I raise my voice today with all the saints whom you have called
to draw near you and we praise Your Name, O Mighty God!
Amen

Praying the Psalms -Psalm 100

Folio 111 verso from a psalter (British Library, Stowe 2). Initial D from Psalm 100 (Beatus).

Thanksgiving is almost here, the last details are on our list and we are excited… It makes me happy to think that Thanksgiving is the opening door to the way that leads us to the Nativitity. We start with thanksgiving, with a grateful heart, we slow down to give thanks to the Almighty One for his mercies .

What a better way to prepare our hearts for this Advent season, and for the celebration of the Incarnation of our Lord?

Let us walk towards Bethlehem with thanksgiving in our hearts!

Make a joyful noise to the Lord,
all the earth!
Make a joyful noise to the Lord,
O my soul!
Do not be quiet today,
praise Him out loud!
Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come, serve Him, O my soul,
For all that He has done,
Come and serve Him
in your home and family today!
Come into His presence with singing!
Join me little ones,
come with mom and dad and let us
enter today His presence with singing!
Know that the Lord, He is God!
It is he who made us, and we are His;
we are his people, and the sheep of
his pasture.
God the Creator of all,
the Lord of lords,
has made us, and we are his!
We are His because He bought us
with a price.
We are His and not ours.
Our days are in His hands,
we are His sheep and
He nourishes our souls
and bodies.
Let us give Him thanks!
Let us make a joyful noise!
Let us serve Him with gladness!
Let us come into His presence with singing!
We can not see this and remain quiet,
we cannot see His goodness and not be glad.
We cannot see His new mercies every morning
and not be thankful!
Enter His gates with thanksgiving,
enter His courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
Lord, your goodness, your mercy,
your grace,
they are too wonderful to comprehend!
When fears try to threaten me,
I will raise my voice and give thanks
to you, O Lord,
who has promised me goodness,
and steadfast love,
and faithfulness to all generations!

Praying the Psalms -Psalm 116-

>

I love you, my Lord,
because you have heard my voice and my pleas for mercy;
so many times I have sinned and you have brought me before You
 to ask forgiveness, only to find mercy at your feet.

I love you, my Lord,
because you have inclined your ear to me.
 – who else can I call day and night?
    who else will hear my heart beat
    and my deepest dreams?
Therefore I will call on you as long as I live.

When the snares of death encompassed me:
the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me:
when I have suffered distress and anguish
I have called on your name:
“O Lord, I pray, deliver my soul!”

– Lord, I am so thankful for this,
  you not only hear my weary voice,
  but you hear to answer my cry.

-Lord, I am forever thankful, because
 you turn your ear to hear the voice of
 your people, your delight is in answering our pleas.

Gracious you are O Lord,
Righteous and merciful you are, my God;
You preserve the simple;
When I was brought low, you saved me.

Lord,  your deeds are too wonderful for me to grasp,
 you delight in raising up the low;
 It amazes me that you, the Most Holy One,
 will  stretch out your hand to save sinners like me
 from the darkest pit.

-O my soul, don’t be anxious for nothing,
 have you forgotten Who the Lord is?
Return, O my soul, to your rest,
for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.

-Lord, I am grateful because in my iniquity,
 you came to me and cleansed me,
 and not only that but you have dealt  with me
 with many blessings, with many gifts,
 I don’t deserve any of those,
 yet you have dealt with me bountifully!

Lord, my God, you have delivered my soul from
death
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling;

My heart can’t comprehend your grace!
I am yours, all my gratitude is due to you!

Because of your perfect sacrifice,
Because of your amazing grace,
I will walk before the Lord
in the land of the living.

What shall I render to You,
O Most High God for all your benefits to me?

What shall I render to you,
O Most High God for all your benefits to me?

I will lift up the cup of salvation
 and call on the name of the Lord,
I will pay my vows to the Lord
in the presence of all His people.

Precious in the sight of the Lord
is the death of hos saints.
O Lord, I am your servant;
You have loosened my bonds.

For this I am grateful, O Lord,
for who is he who buys a servant
only to make Him free?
It is only you, O Lord, who looses
the bonds that separated me
from your divine love!

I will offer to you the sacrifice of
thanksgiving
and call upon your name, O Lord.
I will pay my vows to the Lord
in the presence of His people,
in the courts of the house of the Lord,
In your midst, O Jerusalem,

Praise the Lord!
